Miranda Cassidy-O’Connell
Project Advisor
As Advisor to the WMP, I work alongside and give guidance to the Project Kaimahi and WMP Steering Group.
I am honoured to remain as part of the WMP movement as an advisor. As a systems change practitioner, I am a little addicted to the way the WMP is working. The intentional decolonising and regenerating work is so filled with hope and enables individual and collective agency for a much healthier marine environment.
I am a self-confessed 'collaboration geek' and have extensive experience in creating conditions that enable diverse voices to reach common ground. For over 30 years, I have worked in a thread of people and their relationship with each other and the marine environment. This has included roles for iwi, not-for-profit, government and private sectors. Currently I am director of my own consulting company, FOLKUS Ltd and an Associate for the Centre for Social Impact. This gives me the flexibility to advise the WMP and add my experience to the potent mix of mana whenua, community and a broad field of supporters – all who wish for success in protecting and regenerating Waiheke's marine environment.
I hold a BA (Sociology), a MSc (Hons) in Resource Management and have qualifications in neuro linguistic programming, collaborative practice and regenerative development.
