Rocky Bay Beach Clean

Join us for the last of our last summer beach cleans!

We will be kicking off at 8 am with a karakia.

Meet at the far end of Te Whau Drive where we will set off following the coast along to Rocky Bay. After cleaning up the bays we will relax with complimentary morning tea at the Rocky Bay hall around 10am. Those interested can engage with the Kororā Korero corner in the hall. We can share some results from the recent Kororā Survey 2022, and discuss the multi layers of care this island is doing for our seabirds. This is an opportunity to consider at a local level what your community would like to do for these taonga species.

Carpooling to the starting point is encouraged but we will provide transport from Rocky Bay back to the cars or it is approximately one hour if you want to walk back.

Please bring good shoes as the tracks are slippery this summer and we will be walking along rocks in some areas. Bring hats, water bottles and sunscreen. Gloves and sacks will be provided

Morning tea will only be available to those who RSVP.

Please email beachclean@waihekemarineproject.org
